a-go-go
Pizza à Gogo.
Coffee à GoGo.
Google à go-go?
It's fun to say and it seems like an easy way to make any old word
into something chic and fashionable, even a nerdy one like google.
But maybe you're of a generation
like me and wondered, "Where the heck does that term come from anyway?"

Now all can be revealed. The original was in fact
Whisky à Gogo, a Parisian café and discotheque started in 1965.
The word apparently comes from
the French à gogo meaning "galore".
Hmmm, that in turn is
reminiscent of a character in the 1964 James Bond movie,
Goldfinger.
Not sure there's any relationship.

Wha-a-at? You already knew all that? Oh, so you're the one.
