Cleveland

Actress and comedienne Carol Cleveland could be called the seventh Monty Python. Although in nearly every episode of the original telly program, she had little to do. Seems the guys insisted on wearing all the dresses themselves.

Howard the Duck hailed from Cleveland, the city in Ohio. There is also a city, former duchy, in northern Germany (in Nordrhein-Westfalen) called Kleve. They are apparently unrelated.

The Ohio city was originally spelled Cleaveland after a Moses Cleaveland who in 1796 with a group of investors known as the Connecticut Land Company laid the groundwork for a new town. The original is a village in northwest England near Durham. Its name is probably Anglo-Saxon as "-land" is a German-language suffix. It may refer to local geography, either from "cliff land" or "clay land". Or perhaps it was adapted from the Latin "Caluvium," a Caluvius said to be a Roman soldier who settled in the area.
